Italian paver sales heading for a high

By Chris Sleight |  27 May 2021

Sales of asphalt finishers in Italy are expected to exceed 250 units this year. This would exceed the recent high seen in 2020 – despite the Covid pandemic – and would represent this highest sales since 2007.

Off-Highway Research’s new Asphalt Finishers Italy equipment analysis said, “Contractors are very busy, and the tenders that give them the security needed to invest in new machines are still forthcoming, as are the fiscal incentives that make such purchases more widely accessible.”

However, the report also sounded a note of caution that supply constraints may mean the market cannot reach its potential in 2021. “The only uncertainty about the scale of this anticipated expansion is due to the limited availability of the machines themselves. The asphalt finisher market is not immune from the industry-wide effects of the coronavirus pandemic on supply chains.”

Off-Highway Research’s new equipment analysis on the asphalt finisher industry in Italy is now available to download for subscribers to the European Service, who can login here. It can also be bought by non-subscribers here.

It is believed to be the most detailed and in-depth report ever published on the subject, with analysis covering market size, market shares, market structure, distribution networks, end customer groups, equipment population, machines available and a five-year forecast.
